Welcome to The Way of Love. A brief word about what I’m doing – and why.

The Way of Love is a digital ministry with three primary modes: a website, a newsletter, and podcasts. I aim to make The Way of Love a place that thoughtful  and earnest readers and listeners can come for encouragement in their efforts to construct Jesus-centered lives.

The name comes from the Bible. “The Way” was one of the earliest terms used to define Christian community (Cf., Acts 9:2). The name denoted the set of practices that made them a visible spiritual body. In like manner, I hope to encourage growth of a genuine though virtual community, with regular engagement between contributors, readers, and listeners, bound together by our commitment to the seven Jesus-centered practices that will provide our structure here: Turn. Learn. Pray. Worship. Bless. Go. Rest.

The first cornerstone of this ministry is our podcast, Conversations: Race on the Rocks, a weekly podcast where we wrestle with our racial tensions in a non-partisan way. But there’s more. The basic formula for The Way of Love digital ministry - which will undoubtedly evolve - is the following: a deep dive on public concerns as seen through the lens of at least one of the seven practices, a few shorter posts, and weekly podcasts in which we converse substantively about public concerns from the perspective of an unapologetically Christian ethics.

All of this is offered in the spirit of truth-seeking and the premise that we discover truth best in free and friendly conversation, so please engage in like manner with me and other subscribers in the discussion threads or via email. I will respond to your engagement there or in subsequent posts.

I expect that all articles and podcasts will remain free to the general public. Soon I will turn on a comments feature so that we cultivate a dialogue. But to participate in the community via the discussion threads and to receive the newsletter, I will need you first to register with your name and email and become either a free or contributing member.
